Before
the days of the Camcorder, most major family events would have been recorded
using a Cine camera, onto either Standard 8 or Super 8 film. Sadly these films
have a relatively short life expectancy (compared to 100 years + for DVD).
Film tends to become brittle with age, and is also susceptible to mould and
fading, if it is stored in less than ideal conditions.
Before
your family history is lost for good, why not preserve it onto DVD for future
generations to watch and enjoy.
Film-to-DVD
can transfer each
roll of Super 8 / Standard 8 / 9.5mm or 16mm film to digital format. Any
un-watchable segments can be edited out (i.e. anything grossly out of
focus etc) and background music can be added. Finally we can add titles,
where required, before writing the whole thing to DVD-R format DVD's.
You can also choose to have a copy on MiniDV tape or MPEG4 to enable home
editing.
